Printed with an image of the Bisexual Pride Flag we chose to use Hot Pink for the sides. It was a color that adorned the original Gay Pride Flag but was removed in 1979 due to the scarce availability of pink fabric at the time. We use it here for it's original symbolic representation for sex, but more importantly because it was a dropped color.
So many individuals who do not identify with gender and sexual norms are "dropped" out of our society. Pushed to the side as not deserving of inclusion, not allowed to participate because of fear and bigotry. This simple canvas is a visual representation for the proud bisexual individual with the pride flag out, front and center bringing attention to the true self for all to see. The pink sides remind us that there are still those living on the sidelines, in the shadows needing encouragement and a safe place to be themselves.
The term bisexuality is mainly used in the context of human attraction to denote romantic or sexual feelings toward both men and women, and the concept is one of the three main classifications of sexual orientation along with heterosexuality and homosexuality, all of which exist on the heterosexual–homosexual continuum. A bisexual identity does not necessarily equate to equal sexual attraction to both sexes; commonly, people who have a distinct but not exclusive sexual preference for one sex over the other also identify themselves as bisexual." en.wikipedia.org
