Sometimes it’s hard to focus on coherent thoughts or to “clear your mind” as many people think they have to do when meditating. So do some math, or practice your ABC’s, and test your memory skills in a callback to childhood road trip games.
You’ve planted your seeds, and they’ve sprouted. Those tender sproutlings need tending and nurturing. Your spirit does too. It cannot grow if you do not feed it and protect it from sudden frost or storms.
April is the month when nature awakens from its winter slumber and the trees and flowers open there gifts to the world: flowers of splendid color and a multitude of oxygen giving leaves.
Can you feel it? Spring is in the air! The light is overcoming the darkness as the days get longer.
March was named after the Roman god Mars, the god of war. And though traditionally it marked the beginning of the season of warfare, Metz and I choose to view it in a more modern, peaceful context.
Depression can consume our spirits, in these darker times of the year, and in painful events in our lives. While it is not the cure, finding those beacons of anticipation and hope for the cycle beyond can lend strength to our motivation to keep moving forward.
February is the last month of meteorological winter. A time for purification as we prepare for the coming of spring. It can be seen as the beginning of this ritual, a time to start by cleansing the mind first. Through purging of negativity, re-focusing of the mind toward the future, to replenish our energy wells for the coming year.
